The Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand is the regulatory authority for Physiotherapists in New Zealand. The principal purpose of the board is to protect the health and safety of members of the public by providing for mechanisms to ensure that health practitioners are competent and fit to practice their profession.
A physiotherapist MUST be registered with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) to practice physiotherapy in the New Zealand.
